Testing VPS Performance

CPU

CPU information:

cat /proc/cpuinfo

Disk

DD Testing

Without write cache:

dd bs=64k count=4k if=/dev/zero of=test oflag=dsync; rm test

With write cache:

dd bs=64k count=4k if=/dev/zero of=test conv=fdatasync; rm test

HDParm for SSD

HDParm testing does not support OpenVZ containers.

Install hdparm:

apt-get install hdparm

Check df

df -h

Test for device

hdparm -t YOURDEVICE

Replace YOURDEVICE with the disk you want to test.

IOPing Testing

Install IOPing for Disk latency testing:

apt-get install ioping

Without write cache:

ioping -Dc 25 /

With write cache:

ioping -Cc 25 /

Network

Port Speed

Download speed:
